For NHL goaltender Samuel Montembeault of the Montreal Canadiens and his wife, Daryanne Ayotte, their wedding at the Four Seasons Montreal wasn’t just a celebration—it was the culmination of a shared journey, an embodiment of their love, and a tribute to their families. Captured through the lens of Kerstin Hahn Photography and beautifully documented by Marco Sorriso, the day unfolded as a timeless celebration, weaving together elements of elegance, deep meaning, and heartfelt emotion.

Working closely with Crème Soda Événements, Samuel and Daryanne envisioned a day that would be modern yet romantic, sophisticated yet deeply personal. The details were carefully chosen to reflect their shared story—a blend of European-inspired elements with a focus on intimacy. Olive trees, organic textures, and soft candlelight created an atmosphere that felt both elevated and warm, while guests embraced the chic all-black dress code that added an air of sophistication without detracting from the personal significance of the day.
“We wanted our wedding to feel like it belonged to us—timeless but completely personal,” Daryanne reflects. “Every detail, from the florals to the lighting, was crafted with love, making sure our guests felt the same warmth and thoughtfulness we felt.”

Daryanne’s bridal look, a structured gown from Superior Bridal, was both timeless and graceful. Styled by Vitorino Beauty, her look was finished with a flowing veil that captured the essence of classic bridal beauty. Later, she slipped into a sleek white mini dress with pearl-detailed gloves, a playful yet sophisticated ensemble for the reception that embodied her vibrant spirit.
For Samuel, his custom suit by Suitablee carried a deeply personal touch—portraits of his two grandmothers sewn into the lining. “It was my way of keeping them close,” Samuel shares. “Even though one had passed, and the other couldn’t be there, I carried them with me, especially on such an important day.”

Before exchanging vows, Samuel and Daryanne shared a private first look in the sculptural courtyard of the Four Seasons. Surrounded by suspended gold and white petals, the reflective glass created a serene, almost ethereal atmosphere for this quiet moment.
“It wasn’t just about seeing each other for the first time,” Daryanne says. “It was about everything we’ve been through to get here—the love, the challenges, the moments that led to today.”

Set beneath flowing white drapery, the ceremony was framed by a striking geometric arch, adorned with cascading florals from Atelier Carmel and Big Flowers. The minimalist design, enhanced by graceful white pedestals, was made even more poignant by the striking monochrome palette, created by guests dressed in sleek black attire.
Officiated by humorist Phil Roy, the ceremony effortlessly balanced warmth, humor, and heartfelt emotion, creating an intimate, personal atmosphere that spoke to the couple’s journey together. As Collectif de la Cité’s live music set the mood for the processional, Samuel’s NHL teammates—Jonathan Drouin, David Savard, Mike Matheson, Anthony Richard, Raphael Harvey-Pinard, Brendan Gallagher, and Alexandre Carrier—added an extra sense of camaraderie to the day. Of course, the couple’s French bulldogs, Gucci and Gigi, stole the hearts of everyone, making their grand entrance as the day’s unexpected stars.

The reception was nothing short of magical. The ballroom was transformed into a dreamy indoor garden, where billowing drapery floated across the ceiling, and olive trees from Total Events created a canopy of natural beauty. Banquet tables, styled by La Vie Est Une Fête, were dressed in deep green linens and complemented by refined tabletop pieces and petite brass-shaded lamps. Black chairs from Location Chic added a modern touch, while lush florals brought the space to life with their softness.
Guests were greeted by elegantly designed signage and stationery from KV Print Bar and Mimosa Design, guiding them through the evening’s experiences. A custom monogrammed cake, displayed on a statement dessert cart, was surrounded by candlelight and florals, making it a stunning focal point of the reception. Signature cocktails—Coconut Passion Margarita for Daryanne and Autumn Mule for Samuel—added a touch of personality to the celebration.

To kick off the evening’s festivities, Samuel and Daryanne surprised their guests with a live electronic saxophone performance by Hools Music, setting the tone for a lively, high-energy night. The black-and-white checkered dance floor remained packed all night as everyone danced, laughed, and celebrated the newlyweds’ love.
From the personal tribute to Samuel’s grandmothers, to the presence of their beloved French bulldogs, to the carefully considered design details, every moment of this wedding was filled with meaning. Every element, from the attire to the decor, was chosen with deep intention, ensuring the day felt elevated, yet personal and true to the couple’s spirit.

“Our wedding was everything we hoped for and more,” Samuel shares. “It was elegant, meaningful, but above all, it was warm and personal. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day, and we are so grateful to the team that made it all happen.”
