The Best Intimate Wedding Venues Near Montreal

With the trend of intimate weddings and elopements on the rise, many couples are on the hunt for rare gem locations to say their “I do’s”. You’re searching for intimate wedding venues that feel romantic, beautiful, and yet appropriate for a smaller guest list. I want to make that a little easier for you! Government guidelines are constantly changing, making the need for flexible celebration spaces more important than ever. To help make your search a little easier, I put together a list of some of my favorite intimate wedding venues in the Montreal area. 

Auberge Willow Inn (Hudson)

The Auberge Willow Inn is a long-standing fixture in the picturesque town of Hudson. What truly sets it apart from other similar venues is the stunning view of Lac Saint-Louis. With beautiful large windows on both sides of the reception room, you and your guests are guaranteed a gorgeous view. The indoor reception space is elegant yet relaxed, and decorated in a neutral palette – perfect for adding your own unique touches! 

The grounds offer a number of exceptionally gorgeous outdoor spaces, including a long wrap-around covered porch, a deck area, beautiful lawns, a boat launch, and a kitchen garden. They’re creating a safe yet celebratory environment, even during the pandemic. Hand-washing stations are placed throughout the venue, and they’ve committed to contact-tracing measures. Food service is plated and served by staff, limiting contact as much as possible.

Au Vieux Moulin (Rigaud)

Au Vieux Moulin is a romantic, boutique-style venue in the countryside of Rigaud. When you rent out this venue, you are granted exclusive use of the whole property, so there is a lot of flexibility in what is possible. On the property sits the “Old Flour Mill”. It is almost 200 years old and was gorgeously renovated in 1990. The property is 10 acres, so there is so much room to do whatever you want! Have your ceremony outside, and then bring your guests inside the Mill for the reception. Or have it all outside. Use your imagination; this space is there to make your dreams come true.

Stonehaven Le Manoir (Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts)

Talk about elegance! Stonehaven Le Manior is the definition of elegance when it comes to intimate wedding venues. It’s in the heart of the Laurentians, and they just spent two years renovating it. They pride themselves on quality, uniqueness, and beauty. This venue pays respect to its past while bringing in beautiful, modern, elegant touches. It’s surrounded by nature and breathtaking views, and you can also find The Italian Garden on the grounds of the manor, it’s honestly a hidden gem. If you are looking for elegance and class for your wedding, this is the venue for you. Plus major Bridgerton vibes

Château Ste-Agnès (Sutton)

A breathtaking and historic vineyard estate established in the 1800s, Château Ste-Agnès offers a magnificent view of the Appalachian mountain ranges, which makes it a picturesque backdrop for weddings and other intimate gatherings. It can offer you the European-esque “destination wedding” of your dreams right here in Sutton! And fun fact: the manor’s red ballroom served as the set for Adele’s music video for “Easy On Me”. Talk about stunning locations!

Verger du Flanc Nord (Mont-Saint-Hilaire)

If you are willing to travel a little further, the Verger du Flanc Nord in Mont-Saint-Hilaire is perfect for a smaller guest count. This intimate wedding venue is cool, modern, and filled with beautiful natural light! The two venue spaces look out onto the orchards and provide a blank canvas for you to inject your unique style into. Long rectangular tables are perfect for more intimate gatherings and give an elegant yet family-friendly feel. You could easily hold your ceremony outside – weather permitting! – and then move your celebration inside for cocktails and meal service. The Verger also has a wide range of ciders to sample – perhaps a tasting at the cocktail hour? 

Le Peaches and Cream (Low)

One of my personal dream locations, Le Peaches & Cream! Located on 900 acres of nature, this superb contemporary venue offers incredible outdoor settings for an intimate wedding ceremony. While you could decide to dine outside in the lovely fields surrounded by the forest, hills, and two lakes, a newly renovated reception room with incredible fenestration can also be yours to decorate to your own style.

Le Cafe de l’Horloge (Rigaud)

This gorgeous venue, Le Cafe de l’Horloge, has all of the quaint, charming country vibes. If you are looking for intimate wedding venues that are as charming as they are beautiful, then you’ve found your spot. There is an outdoor ceremony space in the backyard that offers a backdrop of the river and luscious green trees. There is both an outdoor and an indoor space if you want that flexibility!

Abbaye d’Oka (Oka)

The Abbaye d’Oka is an iconic destination in Oka, Quebec, renowned for its incredible history, breathtaking scenery, and delicious artisanal cheeses and beer. Founded in 1694 by the Cistercians, the abbey has been a popular attraction for centuries, providing visitors with the opportunity to see the historical artifacts, take part in the daily prayers, and sample the famous cheese and beer. Le Pont Couvert (La Conception)

Le Pont Couvert is a gorgeous wedding venue that is quite literally built atop a bridge. This intimate wedding venue is about a 10 minute drive from Mont-Tremblant. They have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony space in front of these huge, stunning windows. The space is quaint and unique. Their reception hall has all the character in the world. If you are looking for a boho, unique, romantic, and stunning intimate wedding venue then this is the one for you. Le Pont Couvert also has a green policy. So plastic straws, plastic water bottles, and non-compostable confetti are prohibited.

Auberge des Gallant (Monteregie)

Auberge des Gallant is a more contemporary hotel event space in Monteregie. They have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony space as well as a tent if you want an outdoor reception. They have multiple event spaces; so if you want an outdoor ceremony but an indoor reception. That is definitely an option. If you are dreaming of a ceremony near the lake, below the weeping willows, a cocktail hour in the gardens, or a romantic, rustic-inspired affair, this is the venue for you.

Fonderie Darling (Montreal)

Nestled in the heart of Montreal’s Cité du Multimédia district, Fonderie Darling stands as an inspiration of contemporary art and industrial elegance, perfect for couples seeking a wedding venue with character! This also lends itself to being able to make the space and day your own. Maybe you start at the outdoor ceremony space and then move to the romantic space in the forest for cocktails. This venue is perfect for a classic, elegant celebration, or a more relaxed, woodsy vibe.

They even offer catering and bar services so it’s even easier to plan your big day.

Vitalité Sureau – Elderberry (West Brome)

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, Vitalité Elderberry is a modern multi-purpose event venue you wouldn’t want to miss! Pavillon de la Jamaïque is located in the gorgeous Floralies Gardens on Ile Notre-Dame. The building itself is so cute, and the interior elevates it to another level. The indoor space is open and a perfect canvas for you to put your personal touch on. There are almost floor-to-ceiling windows, so it doesn’t feel stuffy, and you can take in the views. There are gorgeous terraces that would be perfect for an indoor outdoor feel as well as to snap some photos with your lover! They are completely booked for 2022 and aren’t responding to inquiries for 2023 and 2024 until September, but if this feels like the perfect venue for your intimate wedding, it doesn’t hurt to reach out!

Au Jardin D’Emmanuel (Oka)

Located in Oka, Quebec, Au Jardin D’Emmanuel is a wedding banquet hall that prides itself on its relaxed and elegant setting. With a vineyard chapiteau, a charming barn, and a hillside, it is perfect for hosting different kinds of celebrations, from weddings to anniversaries. It can accommodate between 100 and 160 people, just right for mid-sized and grand events. They even have a one-event-per-day policy, which gives anyone some peace with regards to having the venue for themselves!

Auberge de la Montagne coupée (Saint-Jean-de-Matha)

Perched at the top of the Montagne Coupée, Auberge de la Montagne Coupée is a rustic mountain retreat located in the French Alps. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes, from the valleys, snow-capped mountains, and lush forests, while staying in the idyllic cabin. La Bullerie (St. Joseph-du-Lac)

La Bullerie is a winery in St. Joseph-du-Lac. It was renovated and reopened in 2017, and as they like to say, it is the “result of a union between wine aficionados, food buffs, and event experts.” Sounds pretty great, right? They have a lovely indoor space and an outdoor tent. The venue can hold up to 150 guests if you aren’t planning on having a super intimate wedding. They offer catering and, of course, wine! There is also access to an apartment on the property, so you wouldn’t have to travel far to rest your head after dancing the night away. This venue would be perfect for the couple looking for gorgeous backdrops and some pretty good wine on their wedding day!
